In this essay, I reflect on the autobiographical writing of Georges Arthur. On the one hand, it fulfills the function of testimony; on the other, it is a means of self-generation: Unbearable experiences are witnessed. In this writing process, the author creates another self. In this sense, I see Goldschmidt's writing as part of autofictional literature.
