Biographical note
Anne Schülke is a media artist based in Düsseldorf. She studied literary studies and philosophy and completed her doctorate with a dissertation on autofiction. Her interdisciplinary artistic practice combines text, video, scans, installation, artists’ books, and audio. Her works are presented in exhibitions and in public spaces.

She has exhibited in Germany and internationally, including at KIT – Kunst im Tunnel, Düsseldorf; NRW-Forum Düsseldorf; Museum Ratingen; Kunstverein Kloster Neuzelle; Kunstverein Mönchengladbach; Akademie der Künste der Welt, Cologne; UNITE, Ankara; and the art space project 17717, Seoul.

Alongside her artistic practice, she is deeply engaged in teaching and mediation. She enjoys initiating independent projects and frequently collaborates with others, including in international contexts. Schülke also initiates exhibitions, discussions, and collaborative processes. She teaches at universities, including Hochschule Düsseldorf, where she held a visiting professorship from 2025 to 2026. Her artistic and academic publications address transmediality, autofiction, and cultural mediation.

Her grants and awards include the Arbeitsstipendium from Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn (2026, awarded in 2024), Borderland Residencies (2025), and the Förderpreis Bildende Kunst der Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf (2022). This award recognised Schülke’s ability to develop a relevant body of work as an individual artist while also creating interdisciplinary platforms that foster encounters, collaboration, and solidarity.
