From The Suburbs, Video (2025)

On 4 September 2025, I presented this video work at the municipal youth club in Ratingen-West as part of Parrots and Swans.

The video is a collaboration with Zeynep Özmen, Mübeccel Kaya and Linda Rödel Ҫiftҫi – women from Ankara whom I met in May 2025. It features footage of Ankara, Seoul, Florence and Ratingen accompanied by a poem. The poem was written after extensive walks through Ankara and translated by Coşkun Demirok and ChatGPT. In it, I transfer bodily reactions triggered by a sense of shame onto buildings. This personification can be extended to other cities or objects.
