Attempt 3 & 4 (2012)
Video, single channel, Full HD, 7’35 minutes, sound with Detlef Klepsch
at Experimentale, Heinrich-Heine-Institut, Düsseldorf, DE
at MMIII Kunstverein Mönchengladbach, DE
The video begins with underwater footage, followed in the second part by digitally processed images of the moon. A male voice (narrated by Matthew Rouse) speaks in voice-over about the poetic potential of language and reflects on the human shift from explorer to observer. The video was shown in 2012 at Experimentale, an event initiated by Enno Stahl at the Heinrich Heine Institute in Düsseldorf.
In 2025, the exhibition Fringe Phenomena at MMIII Kunstverein Mönchengladbach (GER) showed an installation by Detlef Klepsch and me: On the ground floor of the MMIII, we showed Rear Projections with mini projectors, headphones and steel frames, through which 7 video works with sound from the years 2008 to 2024 were accessible. Attempt 3&4 was part of this.
